Departing £10.25m Man City star sends message indicating imminent transfer

Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic has sent a message to people associated with the club as he stands on the brink of a departure from the club.

The Montenegrin attacker looks set to move on a loan to Inter Milan, and with the transfer set to be made permanent for £10.25 million in the summer of 2017 [Manchester Evening News], the player’s time at the Etihad Stadium looks to have come to an end.

As reported by the Mirror, the player all but confirmed his departure with the following message to the Sky Blues.

“I would like to thank my teammates, staff and people from the club for these [sic] 2 years,” he began, “…was a great pleasure…”

The player moved to England in the summer of 2013 when he left Fiorentina in a £22 million deal [BBC Sport]. However, he failed to assert himself in the Premier League, with a combination of injuries and intense competition affecting his progress at the Etihad Stadium.

There were sporadic moments of excellence—not least a brace against Liverpool early in the 2014-15 campaign—but he was unable to establish himself as a first-team contributor.
