Liverpool & Arsenal transfer target and exquisite playmaker wanted by new potential suitors

Yoann Gourcuff is set to choose from a whole host of sides when he comes to making a decision on his future, with Montpellier Herault Sport Club now understood to be keen on the playmaker.

The attacking midfielder left his contract with Olympique Lyonnais at the end of the Ligue 1 season and has been tipped for a move to the Premier League.

According to talkSPORT [via the Liverpool Echo], Brendan Rodgers’s side were understood to be keen on the France international as the Northern Irish coach looks to bolster and refine his offensive options.

However, the same sourced noted that the Merseyside giants would likely face competition from Arsenal, who have also been keeping tabs on the player.

With neither of the EPL sides having moved to sign the 29-year-old, the prospect of an extended stay in France now looms.

According to BeInSports [via Le 10 Sport], Montpellier are now considering a move for the player.

However, the same source have reported that the former Milan midfielder has considered a switch to Olympique de Marseille this summer, and it’s easy to see why a move to the Stade Velodrome and one of France’s giants would appeal.

Should he move to OM, Gourcuff would likely the successor to Dimitri Payet, who left for West Ham United earlier in the transfer window [via whufc.com].
