5) Jose Callejon, Napoli

Managed 11 goals from the left wing in Serie A last season, and is already attracting the interest of both Arsenal and Chelsea [Metro]. However, with so much interest already, it may be difficult for the Red Devils to win any battle for the 28-year-old’s signature.

4) Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid

It would be a sensational move if United could pull it off, and a return to Old Trafford for the fan favourite would immediately make the side title challengers. Since leaving the Premier League he has gone from strength to strength, scoring 313 goals in 300 appearances for Los Merengues and picking up two Ballon d’Ors.

3) Marco Reus, Borussia Dortmund

One of the best talents in Europe, but signed a new contract with BVB just last season. However, were Louis van Gaal able to persuade him to leave it could be the transfer coup of the summer. During the last campaign he scored seven goals and managed five assists in an injury-hit 20 Bundesliga appearances.

2) Ezequiel Lavezzi, PSG

Now 30-years-old, but the Argentina international is still a top-class winger. Last time round he managed eight goals and two assists in 31 Ligue 1 matches, with 12 of those games coming from the bench. He could be tempted in to leaving as starts dry up at the Parc des Princes.

1) Felipe Anderson, Lazio

The youngest here by some way at 22-years-old, and showed flashes of brilliance in Serie A last season. Alongside Memphis Depay, the Brazilian international could form part of a new young and exciting forward line at Old Trafford.
