Arsenal could be about to make a major change to their transfer policy and bring in two world class players in attack in an attempt to make a serious go of winning the Premier League this season.
The Gunners have plenty to spend this summer, with a club chief recently quoted as saying Arsene Wenger had £200m in the bank, and a large chunk of that could now go on two big-name attackers.
Reports today claim these two stars will be targeted and could be realistic buys:
1) Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)
In a club-record £45m deal, Arsenal are being tipped to succeed with a bid to sign Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema this summer, in what would be a huge upgrade on players like Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck. The Frenchman was also linked with Liverpool this summer, before they opted to sign Christian Benteke instead.
2) Julian Draxler (Schalke)
For around £25m, Arsenal could also land Schalke attacking midfielder Julian Draxler this summer after hints from the club that they could let him go for the right price, though they’ve already rejected a £15m bid from Juventus.
