Biggest liabilities in the Premier League, with Tottenham’s Kyle Walker after own goal, plus Man Utd & Arsenal defenders

Seven error-prone players you just can’t rely on, including Kyle Walker!

1) Kyle Walker (Tottenham)

With an own goal in the game against Manchester United today, Kyle Walker has shown again that, for all his ability, he often lacks the composure and intelligence in the game to truly be a success, and his tendancy for big game-changing errors means he surely can’t be first-choice for too much longer.

2) Phil Jones (Manchester United)

Poor in pre-season for Manchester United, Phil Jones is another England defender once regarded as a top talent, but who has clearly gone backwards, looking unnatural in most positions he plays and prone to some bizarre moments of indecision.

3) Simon Mignolet (Liverpool)

A fine goalkeeper when he’s feeling confident, but also a shot-stopper capable of messing games up big time for Liverpool, having largely been a disappointment since joining the Reds from Sunderland a couple of years ago.

4) Per Mertesacker (Arsenal)

Despite being a regular for Arsenal, Per Mertesacker is another defender who just isn’t quite up to scratch, and whose glaring lack of pace leaves him in real danger against top quality opposition.

5) Vincent Kompany (Manchester City)

Once a world class centre-back and great leader, Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany now has to be regarded as more of a liability than anything else, with the Belgian comitting some truly awful individual errors at the back in recent times.

6) Lee Cattermole (Sunderland)

An important player for Sunderland, but Lee Cattermole’s awful disciplinary record also makes him a big liability for the club, as he could have a moment of madness any time and leave the Black Cats down to ten men.

7) Papiss Cisse (Newcastle United)

A key striker for Newcastle, Papiss Cisse is another player who’s more hassle than he’s worth, as he often misses too many easy chances and goes missing when his club need him, despite the occasional moment of brilliance.
