Top ten transfer rumours of the week ranked by probability – our thoughts on Benzema Arsenal, Ramos, Kane and more.

The top ten transfer rumours of the week ranked by chance of coming true, from least to most…

10) Gaitan Man Utd

A rumour that never seems go to away, Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan has again been linked with a move to Manchester United, despite all signs pointing towards an imminent deal for Barcelona wide-man Pedro.

9) Bender Tottenham

A realistic enough story, but Tottenham could probably do better than Borussia Dortmund defensive midfielder Sven Bender, and the reports linking them with the German don’t seem particularly strong.

8) Biglia Man Utd

With quotes taken slightly out of context, Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia is now being strongly linked with Manchester United, even though the Red Devils clearly don’t need another central midfield player.

7) Berbatov West Ham

A move we’d all love to see, but Dimitar Berbatov is being linked with so many clubs at the moment it’s hard to say one story is more true than any other.

6) Ramos Man Utd

A deal possibly still on, but it remains hard to work out if Sergio Ramos actually wants to join Manchester United, or if he just wants to get himself a big new contract at Real Madrid.

5) Kane Man Utd

Certainly a striker United need, Tottenham’s Harry Kane supposedly missed a friendly for Spurs shortly after hearing of the Reds’ interest, which suggests he may be keen to see the move go through.

4) Carvalho Real Madrid

An ideal signing for Real Madrid, William Carvalho would be a more defensive-minded option than the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, and is affordable at roughly £20m.

3) Illarramendi Liverpool

A deal made more likely by Real’s interest in Carvalho, Liverpool have been linked with Asier Illarramendi for much of the summer and could now be close to bringing him to Anfield.

2) Traore Liverpool

A deal said to be on the verge of completion, Liverpool are surely going to win the race to sign exciting Barcelona youngster Adama Traore this summer in a bargain £4.2m move.

1) Benzema Arsenal

Despite Arsene Wenger denying the move, all other sources point towards this deal being very much on the cards this summer, and there’s no doubt Karim Benzema is exactly the striker Arsenal need to sign up front.
