1) Tim and Chris Cahill

The Australian international and former Everton star Tim Cahill is far more well known than is brother Chris, who opted to represent Sri Lanka at international level, though he didn’t stick with football as a long-term career path.

Another case of one brother proving far more successful than the other, Christian Vieri is a Serie A and Italy legend, while his brother Massimiliano ended up playing for Australia, though only winning four caps.

3) Thiago and Rafinha Alcantara

Two big names here produced by Barcelona’s famed youth academy, Thiago and Rafinha Alcantara. Both at different clubs now after Thiago’s move to Bayern Munich, the former Nou Camp man also opted to play for Spain over Brazil, unlike younger sibling Rafa.

4) Luis and Paolo Suarez

Luis Suarez is yet another huge name in the world of football with a far less famous sibling, with the Uruguayan international’s brother Paolo playing for El Salvador over Luis’ Uruguay.

5) Paul, Matthias and Florentin Pogba

Juventus’ Paul Pogba is by far the most well known of these three brothers, and the immensely gifted 22-year-old also opted to play for the bigger national side, France, over Guina, whom both his brothers Matthias and Florentin play for.

6) Kevin-Prince and Jerome Boateng

Two big names in German football, Schalke’s Kevin-Prince Boateng ended up playing for Ghana instead after struggling to make it into the German national side alongside his brother Jerome, who also plays for the bigger club in Bayern Munich.
