Arsenal star DEMANDING payoff to leave Gunners this summer

Arsenal star Mathieu Flamini is demanding a payoff to leave the club this summer, reports Goal.

The 31-year-old has lost his place in Arsene Wenger’s side due to the meteoric rise of Francis Coquelin last season. The latter returned from a loan with Championship side Charlton Athletic to become a key player in away victories over Manchester City and Manchester United.

This has left Flamini unwanted at the Emirates Stadium, and several clubs are interested in taking him away from North London. Galatasaray and Ligue 1 side Bastia are among the team’s interested, but the player expects a drop in wages wherever he goes. As such he wants a part of his Gunners contract, which runs for another year, to be paid off before he leaves.

If the midfielder does depart, it will leave Coquelin as the only senior defensive player in the middle of the park in their squad. As such a move for Sevilla ace Grzegorz Krychowiak, who has been linked by the Daily Telegraph, could appeal to Wenger. The Poland international recently impressed in the La Liga outfit’s 4-3 defeat to Barcelona in the UEFA Super Cup.
