FIVE controversial Jose Mourinho incidents following Eva Carneiro spat, including jibe at Arsenal manager

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is no stranger to creating headlines and his recent bust-up with physio Eva Carneiro is simply the latest in a long list of controversial incidents involving the Portuguese coach.

Take a look at five examples of when the ‘Special One’ has gone overboard with his comments or actions:

5) vs Barcelona (February 23 2005)

In the aftermath of Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat in the Champions League Round of 16 first-leg tie at the Camp Nou, Mourinho accused then Barca boss Frank Rijkaard of speaking with referee Anders Frisk at half-time.

The ramifications of Mourinho’s allegations saw Frisk quit his job after receiving death threats and the Blues boss was considered the ‘enemy of football’ at the time.

4) ‘Campaign against Chelsea’ (December 2014)

In a season where Mourinho guided the Blues to their first league title in five years, he still managed to moan about how unfairly he felt his team were during parts of the 2014-15 campaign.

3) Recent comments aimed towards Rafa Benitez and his wife (July 2015)

Mourinho responded to his old rival’s wife comments about Benitez clearing up his mess and previous clubs by criticising the ex-Liverpool manager’s weight.

2) Calling Arsene Wenger as ‘a specialist in failure’ (February 2014)

The pair don’t like each other, that much is clear following their snub during the Community Shield meeting between Arsenal and the Blues earlier in the month.

But upon Mourinho’s return to England in the summer of 2013 it appeared there was a mutual respect between the two, however, Portuguese boss crossed the lined by saying his opposite number was a ‘specialist in failure’.

1) Poking Tito Vilanova in the eye (August 2012)

Games between Barca and Real Madrid are normally heated affairs given the fierce rivarly between the two clubs. But Mourinho went extremely overboard by poking Vilanova in the eye during a melee between the two sets of players and staff on the touchline.
