Arsenal handed HUGE transfer boost: €32m man now available as Real Madrid close in on Liverpool target

Good news Arsenal fans – Gunners free to sign top target!

Arsenal now look free to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho as Real Madrid look instead to sign Liverpool target Mateo Kovacic from Inter Milan.

The Spanish giants had been strongly linked with a move for the Portuguese international, but now look instead to land Croatian starlet Kovacic imminently, beating Liverpool to his signature, according to the Independent.

Carvalho has been linked with Arsenal several times and looks like an ideal buy for the Gunners to solve their defensive midfield issues, and he should cost around £23m.

Although other clubs have also shown an interest in the 23-year-old, Arsenal should now be the clear favourites after Real dropped out of the running by bringing in Kovacic in that position instead.

The deal could also be good news for Liverpool in the race to sign Asier Illarramendi from the Bernabeu club.
