After a miserable start to their title-defending campaign, reports are suggesting that Chelsea could be set to engage in some major activity in the summer market.

5. Chelsea handed Telles transfer tease

Despite securing the signature of left back Abdul Rahman Baba at the weekend, the Metro report that the Blues remain interested in Galatasaray left back Alex Telles.

Chelsea were said to have had a £5million offer rejected last week, but Galatasaray manager Hamza Hamzaoglu has confessed that if his valuation – said to be around £10million – is met, they will consider selling.

4. Deal close for ‘new Michael Essien’

According to the Daily Express, Chelsea officials have travelled to Italy to finalise a deal for Cagliari Calcio midfielder Godfred Donsah, 19.

The teenager is reportedly valued at £10million.

His style of play has drawn comparisons to former Stamford Bridge favourite Michael Essien.

3. Jose Mourinho wants Lacazette

The Blues could make a move for Alexandre Lacazette, with the Metro claiming that the France striker is being considered as competition to Diego Costa in attack.

Though such a claim is questionable given the striker signed a new deal with Olympique Lyonnais until 2019 earlier this month.

2. Blues line up £21m Griezmann bid

Despite reports that Antoine Griezmann has signed a new deal with Atletico Madrid, the Daily Star claim that Roman Abramovich, the Chelsea owner, will make an opening offer of £21m for the Frenchman and a deal could be reached this month.

The British newspaper report that the Blues are unlikely to meet his £56.8m buy-out clause, but a fee could still be agreed.
