With Barcelona star Neymar emerging as a top target for Manchester United, here’s a look at five more realistic options for the club to consider as they look to solve that problem area up front…
1) Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)
Reportedly available for around £44m, Atletico Madrid winger Antoine Griezmann is on Chelsea’s radar this summer after a superb record of 25 goals last season. The Frenchman would cost about a third of Neymar’s fee but could have the same kind of impact for United.

2) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)
With an asking price of around £50m, Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Marco Reus is one of the best in the world in a number of positions up front, and he’d be a terrific purchase for United to solve their current issues, though Liverpool are also interested.
3) Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)
Strongly linked with a £21m move to Arsenal and other top clubs this summer, Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette could be a good alternative to Neymar, looking just as dangerous in front of goal.
4) Mario Gotze (Bayern Munich)
Not at his best at the moment, but Bayern Munich foward Mario Gotze is available for a bargain £30m this summer and has the potential to become world class if shown some faith.
5) Nicolas Gaitan (Benfica)
Another £30m player, Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan has been consistently one of the best players in Portugal down the years, and has repeatedly been linked with a move to United as he’d be ideal for their needs and style of play.
