(Image) Liverpool star in Italy for AC Milan medical ahead of move

Liverpool star Mario Balotelli is having a medical with AC Milan as a move grows ever closer, reports the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old has been an unqualified failure at Anfield, managing a paltry four goals in 28 appearances during his solitary campaign with the Reds. As such, manager Brendan Rodgers has sought to offload him as quickly as possible, even paying half of his salary to make sure he leaves. This will cost the Merseyside club around £2.5 million.

Balotelli has even been pictured at the club, arriving for his medical.

It is unknown whether the season-long loan deal will have an option to make the move permanent. Rossoneri chief executive Adriano Galliani has made it clear that this is the Italy international’s last chance at the San Siro though, with his poor disciplinary record something fans will be worrying about.

“This is absolutely his last chance,” said Galliani, “I hope he understands this.”

In the former Manchester City man’s last spell with the Serie A team he managed 30 goals in 54 matches, the best goals to game ratio that he has had any of his clubs to date. He will be hoping to recreate this should the transfer be completed, but perhaps without the bad publicity that has followed him throughout his career so far.
