DONE DEAL: Manchester United confirm striker has completed switch to Bundesliga giants

Manchester United have confirmed striker Javier Hernandez has joined Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen on a permanent deal.

The Red Devils broke the news via their official Twitter account on Monday evening and the Mexican becomes the second player to leave Old Trafford in the space of a few hours after Adnan Januzaj completed his season-long loan move to Borussia Dortmund earlier in the day.

Hernandez joined United in the summer transfer window in 2010 and became a instant fan favourite as he netted on his competitive debut against Chelsea in the Community Shield in August that year.

The 28-year-old spent last season on-loan at Liga BBVA giants Real Madrid, but has not started any of United first six games of the current campaign and missed a penalty on his final appearance for the club against Club Brugge last week.

He departs English football having scored 59 goals in 157 games and also won two Premier League title with the Red Devils.
