Manchester United transfer targets: Ranking the club’s Galactico targets, including Neymar & Gareth Bale

Ranking Manchester United transfer targets – which Galactico should they sign?

Manchester United could make one or two stunning late deals this summer, with five of the best attackers in world football linked strongly with the club throughout this transfer window.

Here we power rank the top Galacticos who could be brought in to Old Trafford, featuring Barcelona forward Neymar and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale…

5) Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich)

Undoubtedly one of the best wingers in the world for many years now, Arjen Robben is arguably the least suitable option for United (though they’d no doubt take him now) due to his age and his relative lack of competition in recent years from playing in the extremely one-sided Bundesliga.

4) Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

Another world class star who’d be a great fit at Old Trafford, but if we’re being picky we’d probably put Gareth Bale in fourth place on this list due to his incredibly high asking price (likely to be between £95m and maybe even over £100m) and the fact that he hasn’t exactly set the world alight in his time in La Liga.

3) Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)

A club legend who’d be warmly welcomed back at United, Cristiano Ronaldo is another Real Madrid Galactico being looked at this summer, though he’d be very pricey for his age and has not made the most convincing start to this season.

2) Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich)

A big game player with a proven scoring record at the top level, Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller would be a superb fit in this Red Devils side, and, though expensive, he knows Louis van Gaal well, which could prove crucial in helping him settle.

1) Neymar (Barcelona)

A player who could become the very best in the world, Barcelona forward Neymar really hit top form last season and looks to be approaching his peak, which would make him a hugely ambitious signing for United, announcing themselves as challengers for the Premier League and Champions League again.
