Chelsea have endured a tough start to the season, and have a long road ahead if they are going to defend their Premier League title.

Losses to Manchester City and Crystal Palace, a draw with Swansea City, and a close win over West Brom have come in their first four matches. This has caused turmoil among fans, and hasn’t been helped by rivals City’s brilliant four victories without conceding a single goal.

5) Pedro praises Mourinho relationship

New signing Pedro has praised manager Jose Mourinho for making him feel like a part of the family at the club, reports the Daily Mail.

“People might think it sounds strange but in a one on one situation Mourinho is very different,” said the Spain international, “I have changed my opinion of him. He treats you like one of his family. He shows huge respect for his players. His demands are high but if there is criticism it’s so that we can improve and become stronger.”

4) Manchester United boss made Falcao cry

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal made Radamel Falcao cry during his time at the club, according to the Daily Express.

The Dutchman’s treatment of the 29-year-old made him deeply unhappy during his torrid campaign with the Red Devils.

3) Blues made last minute Luisao bid

It has been revealed by the Daily Express that the Stamford Bridge outfit made a last minute attempt to sign Luisao from Benfica.

Their move for the 34-year-old was unsuccessful though, and he looks set to end his career with the Portuguese side.

2) Paul Pogba phone call

French newspaper l’Equipe [via Sky Sports] has revealed that Jose Mourinho called Juventus ace Paul Pogba about a possible move in August.

However, despite this attempt to personally lure the player to Stamford Bridge, the Blues were unable to meet the Bianconeri’s asking price for the France international.

1) New signing left out of Champions League squad

Deadline day arrival Papy Djilobodji has been left out of the Blues’ Champions League squad, reports The Guardian.

The 26-year-old has only recently brought to Stamford Bridge, but they will be unable to play him in Europe’s premier club competition after they hit their limit of non-locally trained players.
