1) Aaron Ramsey

A key creative midfield player, Aaron Ramsey plays in the same role as Isco but has arguably not done enough to justify his place in Arsene Wenger’s side in recent times, meaning he’d surely be one of the first to drop to the bench if the classy Spaniard joined.

2) Santi Cazorla

Another Spanish playmaker, Santi Cazorla is currently first choice for Arsenal but could see his place under threat as well if the Gunners splash the cash on bringing Isco to north London.

3) Mesut Ozil

If Isco plays slightly further forward, it could be that German number ten Mesut Ozil is also under threat from the new signing’s presence.

4) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

With Isco also capable of playing out wide, or with Ozil maybe moving to the left if Isco plays centrally, it could be harder and harder for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to take his usual place on either flank.

5) Olivier Giroud

With increased competition in attacking midfield likely to see Theo Walcott move up front (where he may end up playing anyway this season), it’s bad news as well for Olivier Giroud, who hasn’t done enough to convince anyone he’s good enough to be first choice centre-forward for Arsenal.
