The summer may be over, but that hasn’t stopped the transfer rumours flooding in, with these ten stories emerging this week. Here, we rank them from least likely to most likely to actually come true in January…
10) Theo Walcott (Arsenal to Barcelona)
A ridiculous rumour, Arsenal winger Theo Walcott is not always first choice for the Gunners and would surely not be good enough for Barcelona.
9) Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City to Arsenal)
A player in form, Riyad Mahrez surely still has to do a little more to warrant interest from Arsenal and other big clubs, so this story is likely nonsense unless he carries on playing like this for the next few months.
8) Aymeric Laporte (Athletic Bilbao to Manchester United)
One of the best young defenders in the world, Aymeric Laporte has been linked once again with Manchester United, but not for the first time.
7) Simone Zaza (Juventus to Arsenal)
Linked with Arsenal on deadline day and now tipped to join in January, a move for Simone Zaza seems fairly unlikely given that he’s only just moved to Juventus.
6) Isco (Real Madrid to Manchester City)
Linked once again with Manchester City, this move doesn’t seem particularly likely, but Isco has played under Manuel Pellegrini before, and the Chilean is a big fan.
5) Edinson Cavani (PSG to Arsenal)
The world class striker Arsenal need, PSG star Edinson Cavani would no doubt be expensive, but there is growing speculation that he wants out of the Parc des Princes.
4) Seamus Coleman (Everton to PSG)
A top class right-back, Seamus Coleman has impressed with Everton and it’s no surprise to see him linked with a big club like PSG, as surprising as this rumour seems.
3) Felipe Anderson (Lazio to Manchester United)
A target who makes perfect sense for Manchester United, Lazio winger Felipe Anderson is an outstanding young talent who’d be a great fit in this Red Devils side.
2) John Stones (Everton to Chelsea)
The subject of three bids from Chelsea in the summer, it seems likely that John Stones’ move from Everton to Stamford Bridge is inevitable and could happen this January.
1) Jesus Navas (Barcelona to Manchester City)
A signing that makes perfect sense, Jesus Navas is not a regular at Manchester City but shone in La Liga, making him an ideal squad player signing to replace Pedro out wide at Barcelona.
