Manchester United star hails £36m signing Anthony Martial after STUNNING debut goal against Liverpool

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has heaped praise on teenager Anthony Martial following his debut goal against Liverpool on Saturday evening.

The Frenchman, who joined the Red Devils from Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco on transfer deadline day, had a debut to remember as he netted just 20 minutes after coming on as a second half substitute to seal all three points for the hosts against their bitter rivals at Old Trafford.

Martial’s goal capped of a whirlwind week for him on a personal note as he made his debut for the France national team during the international break and has now introduced himself to the United supporters, many of whom may not have known a great deal about the 19-year-old prior to the £36million transfer.

Speaking after the 3-1 victory over the Merseyside outfit, Young admitted he was happy to see his new teammate make an immediate impact in the Barclays Premier League:

“It was a fantastic individual bit of skill, (there was) maybe a bit of luck in there as well, but the way he finished it was incredible and it’s a great start from him,” the Englishman told Sky Sports.

It’s early days for him – he’s been away on international duty and only trained the last couple of days with us – but he’s young and he wants to learn.

“Morgan is his translator as he doesn’t speak much English yet, but if he can go out on the pitch and talk like that, that’s enough for us,” Young added.
