Ivanovic Chelsea: Five replacements for Blues right-back, including El Clasico pair & Man Utd transfer target

Ivanovic Chelsea – five replacements for underperforming defender.

With Branislav Ivanovic in such poor form for Chelsea, it is being reported that Jose Mourinho has asked his scouts to find him a new right-back. Here’s a look at five realistic options for the Blues to replace the struggling Serbian…

1) Daniel Carvajal (Real Madrid)

A classy attack-minded right-back, Daniel Carvajal is not a guaranteed starter for Real Madrid this season, but could certainly be a good buy for Chelsea to improve their options in that position.

2) Seamus Coleman (Everton)

Linked many times with Chelsea, Everton right-back Seamus Coleman is another potentially world class star in that position after some hugely impressive performances in the Premier League down the years.

3) Dani Alves (Barcelona)

An experienced player who has been on Chelsea’s radar in the past, Barcelona right-back Dani Alves might be about to be replaced by Aleix Vidal from January onwards, meaning he might be available for a reasonable price.

4) Fabinho (AS Monaco)

A hugely impressive Brazilian youngster, Fabinho has caught the eye at AS Monaco and been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, meaning he could surely be worth considering for Chelsea.

5) Gregory van der Wiel (Paris Saint-Germain)

Not necessarily a starter for Paris Saint-Germain, Gregory van der Wiel is still a top class option for Chelsea to look at. The Dutchman has been linked with the Blues before and combines experience, stamina and attacking quality.
