10 Players with more goals than Kane & Alexis COMBINED: Including Chelsea great, Man United starlet & Arsenal forward

After six weeks without a goal by either Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez or Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, a lot of fans are concerned that two former frontrunners for the Golden Boot award might not even make double-digit goals this season.

It’s hard to explain what’s led to their scoring droughts – could it be personnel changes, scheme changes, lingering injuries or harder opponents?

But those are just excuses – the bottom line is that Alexis and Kane aren’t living up to expectations and their respective clubs are struggling in part because of it.

Here we take a look at 10 players who already have more goals than two of the Premier League’s biggest scoring threats through a full six weeks to the Premier League season…

10. Pedro, Chelsea (1 goal)

It took the former Barcelona superstar just 20 minutes in his first-ever Premier League match to score his first goal.

9. Steven Naismith, Everton (3 goals)

In one of the most stunning upsets in recent memory, Naismith single-handedly outscored the entire Chelsea squad en route to a huge win over the defending BPL champs.

8. Christian Benteke, Liverpool (2 goals)

The Reds made a massive transfer deal to land the former Aston Villa star. Benteke hasn’t contributed much in the way of wins, but his bicycle goal against Man United was a thing of beauty.

7. Dimitri Payet, West Ham United (3 goals)

The leading scorer on the highest-scoring team in the Premier League, Payet may got down as one of the biggest steals of the 2015 summer transfer window.

6. Son Heung-min, Tottenham Hotspur (1 goal)

In his White Hart Lane debut, the former Bayer Leverkusen star scored the lone goal in a Tottenham win – their first home win of the season.

5. Saido Berahino, West Bromwich Albion (1 goal)

After a summer of discontent, Berahino returned to West Bromwich and scored a goal over Aston Villa to give the club a big away win.

4. Riyad Mahrez, Leicester City (5 goals)

One of the leading scorers in the Premier League, Mahrez has been a critical part of Leicester City’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

3. Callum Wilson, Bournemouth (5 goals)

A scoring machine when Bournemouth were in the Championship Division, Wilson has brought that scoring excellence to the Premier League and is tied with Mahrez for leading scorer.

2. Anthony Martial, Manchester United (2 goals)

Man United payed more money for a teenager than any other club in history. They were rewarded for their high-risk move with a game-sealing goal against Liverpool just last week – in Martial’s debut no less.

1. Frank Lampard, NYC FC (1 goal)

Alright, we may have completely broken the rules here by including someone that isn’t even in the Premier League. But consider this: the 37-year-old Lampard – a man almost old enough to be Harry Kane’s father – made his first ever goal earlier this week for one of the worst clubs in the MLS.

Throw in the fact that Lampard plays on a team with more starters over 33-year-old than Tottenham and Arsenal even have on their teams, and you’ve got a recipe for major headaches at White Hart Lane and Emirates Stadium.
