Five candidates to be next Manchester United manager as new LVG successor emerges ahead of Ryan Giggs

Next Manchester United manager – Giggs faces big-name competition.

Who will be the next Manchester United manager? Louis van Gaal is yet to convince everyone and won’t necessarily last all the way to the end of his contract in 2017. The Dutchman has already named who he thinks will be his successor, but here’s a look at all five main candidates to take the top job at Old Trafford…

1) Ryan Giggs

Tipped by LVG as his ideal replacement, current Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs is a club legend who’d be a very popular choice to take charge of the team in the future, though his inexperience perhaps means he shouldn’t be rushed into the big job.

2) Pep Guardiola

In the eyes of many, Pep Guardiola has not been the biggest success at Bayern Munich, but the former Barcelona boss remains regarded as one of the best managers in the world and there’s no question he could play a major role in getting Manchester United back to the very top.

3) Jurgen Klopp

Linked with United and many other big clubs in the past, former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp looks like he could be a big hit in English football after leading his old side to two Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League final.

4) Gary Neville

An intelligent tactician, Gary Neville has shown his superb understanding of the game in his role as a pundit for Sky Sports and some of his newspaper columns. The former Manchester United defender was a big favourite at Old Trafford and looks to be doing well as a coach for England.

5) Carlo Ancelotti

A success in the Premier League with Chelsea in the past, Carlo Ancelotti could definitely be a good candidate to take over at Manchester United after proving himself in the Champions League with three career wins and so much domestic success around Europe.
