Manchester United star saves Old Trafford career in Louis van Gaal SHOWDOWN talks

Manchester United star Marcos Rojo has resurrected his Old Trafford career during showdown talks with manager Louis van Gaal, reports the Daily Star.

The 25-year-old had angered the Dutchman when he missed their pre-season tour due to a passport issue. Agent Jorge Mendes was forced to intervene, and now the Argentina international was apparently delighted when informed by the former Barcelona boss that he was still in his plans during crunch talks.

With Daley Blind, who is naturally a left-back, playing at centre-back so far this season, the ex-Sporting Lisbon man may now believe that he has a chance of breaking in to the side. The horrific injury to Luke Shaw could also give an opportunity to Rojo, who made 25 appearances in his debut season at the club.

Indeed, having looked shaky against Swansea City and PSV Eindhoven, United’s defence is in need of some reinforcements. The Red Devils conceded twice against both sides, losing when they were expected to come away with a victory.
