Arsenal clear out: Five Gunners flops who NEED to go, including goal-shy ex-Man Utd man Danny Welbeck

Arsenal clear out – five Gunners to ship out in the January transfer window.

Arsene Wenger clearly needs to make an Arsenal clear out in January in a bid to raise funds for better players, with these five bench-warmers and backups no longer needed at the Emirates Stadium…

1) Mikel Arteta

Mikel Arteta is no longer needed at Arsenal after losing his place to Francis Coquelin last season after some problems with injuries. The Spaniard is now clearly over the hill and should be offloaded so the Gunners can bring in a big-name defensive midfielder in the mould of William Carvalho or Lars Bender.

2) Danny Welbeck

Danny Welbeck is another player who has struggled with injury problems at Arsenal, but it looks already like his time may be up at the Emirates after a poor goal return last season, and with increased competition up front this year with winger Theo Walcott moved into his position.

3) Joel Campbell

Not good enough out wide or up front, Joel Campbell cannot get a look in at Arsenal at the moment and is surely going to be shown the door before long, with improvements needed in attack.

4) Tomas Rosicky

It’s certainly a trend at Arsenal – another player who seems to be almost permanently injured. Tomas Rosicky surely faces a long fight now to get anywhere near the Gunners first-team, and is another who could well be let go at the next opportunity.

5) Mathieu Debuchy

Having fallen behind Hector Bellerin in the pecking order, Mathieu Debuchy has been linked with a move to Everton in January and seems another player Arsenal could do well to cash in on.
