Arsenal plot January move for versatile South American who will be available on the cheap

Emirates Stadium chase talented forward.

Arsenal are reportedly readying a January bid for PSG forward Ezequiel Lavezzi according to Italian source TuttoMercato.

The 30-year-old has seen his first team chances limited since the arrival of Man United flop Angel Di Maria to the Parc des Princes and the former Napoli man is now well into the final year of his current contract, with no new deal likely to be offered.

Lavezzi is capable of effectively filling wide or central attacking roles and is an experienced performer of genuine quality.

The PSG star played a key role in Argentina’s run to the 2014 World Cup final, making six appearances during the tournament, and he has played his part in helping his club side to three successive Ligue 1 titles in his three years in the French capital.

Given that Lavezzi can leave PSG on a free transfer next summer it’s entirely plausible that the big-spending side may elect to accept a reduced fee in January, especially as the South American is now pretty much a bit-part player in Laurent Blanc’s first-team set-up.
