Higuain to Arsenal: Gunners plot January swap deal to sign Napoli striker & Liverpool target

Wenger could offer this player to help bring Higuain to Arsenal.

Arsenal are reportedly plotting to offload Olivier Giroud as part of a deal to try and sign Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain in the January transfer window.

The Gunners are long-time admirers of the Argentine goal-poacher, and could do with an upgrade on the likes of Giroud up front after a slow start to the season.

According to sources in Italy, Arsene Wenger is now willing to offer the French international to the Italian side as part of a bid to bring Higuain’s asking price down from his extraordinarily high release clause of around £63m.

Napoli may be tempted by this deal as it would easily solve the issue of replacing their star player, and Giroud’s style of play could be better suited to the slower pace of Serie A.
