10. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 43 goals

Few players will talk more about how good they are in the Champions League or anywhere else than Zlatan. As painful as his it may be for his detractors though, Zlatan is actually pretty good.

9. Karim Benzema, 43 goals

Joining Real Madrid around the same time as Ronaldo, Benzema often gets overlooked by the flamboyant CR7. But he is not to be trifled with in the Champions League.

8. Didier Drogba, 44 goals

The well traveled Golden Boot winner was the Champions League Final Man of the Match in 2012.

7. Filippo Inzaghi, 46 goals

The former Italian superstar won the Champions League twice with Milan, winning Man of the Match honors in the 2007 Final.

6. Andriy Shevchenko, 48 goals

Shevchenko was the Champions League top scorer twice in his career and won the tournament once with AC Milan.

5. Thierry Henry, 50 goals

The Arsenal legend and four-time Premier League Golden Boot winner never won the Champions League, but he came pretty darn close in 2006, recording 33 goals in all competitions as Arsenal made it to the Final.

4. Ruud van Nistelrooy, 56 goals

Wayne Rooney’s former mentor knew a thing or two about dominating the Champions League (even if he never managed to win it). He led the tournament in goals three times in his career.

3. Raul, 71 goals

The greatest goal scorer in Real Madrid history (until Ronaldo came along), Raul won the Champions League three times in five years and led the tournament in scoring twice.

2. Lionel Messi, 77 goals

A full two years young than the man in front of him, Messi won’t be No. 2 forever. But his September knee injury will unfortunately delay his rise to the top of this list.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo, 82 goals

He’s been the beneficiary of a star-studded supporting cast but no one can ever dispute Ronaldo’s skill.
