Predicted Arsenal XI vs Swansea: Gibbs set to start in midfield as injury crisis worsens

Arsenal are currently in a run of great form, but unfortunately for them they’re also in the midst on an injury crisis.

With the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey all missing, Arsene Wenger may be forced into a midfield reshuffle.

The Gunners may also have one eye on next week’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, but as they currently sit top of the table, can they afford to take their foot off the gas in the league?

See below how we think they will line up…

GK: Petr Cech

Cech’s inclusion is a no brainer as he is bar far the best goalkeeper at the club.

RB: Hector Bellerin

There was a chance he’d find himself pushed further up, but others being moved means he keeps his spot at right-back.

CB: Gabriel

The Brazilian will need to be on top form to keep the likes of Andre Ayew quiet.

CB: Laurent Koscielny

Koscielny will be charged with marshalling the back line against the resurgent Swans.

LB: Nacho Monreal

Arsenal’s renaissance man. He’ll be virtually guaranteed a place unless Wenger decides to rest him.

DM: Francis Coquelin

The Frenchman has continued his fine form into this season, but will have his hands full against Swansea’s creative midfield.

CM: Santi Cazorla

Will be given free creative licence through the middle once again.

CM: Mesut Ozil

Likewise. Together they should have enough to cause Swansea problems.

RW: Alexis Sanchez

Arsenal’s key man, but they may do well to wrap him in cotton wool with Bayern Munich in mind.

LW: Kieran Gibbs

With the injuries The Gunners have sustained, the left-back may be pushed forward to support the attack.

ST: Olivier Giroud

With Walcott missing, there’s nobody else that Wenger will trust to lead the line.
