Possible Jose Mourinho replacement nears exit at current club say BBC; will Chelsea be monitoring the situation?

According to BBC Sport, David Moyes is on the brink of an exit from Real Sociedad after being unable to turn around a series of poor results in La Liga.

The Basque side are enduring a nightmarish campaign and, after 11 matches, sit 18th in the Spanish top flight, finding themselves in the midst of a relegation battle. Sociedad have won only two of their games to date, losing six, and have accrued only nine points.

Despite a 4-0 win over Levante, the side have lost four of their last five matches, and as such, Moyes finds himself in trouble, with BBC’s Andy West reporting that the Scottish manager may well be removed from his post imminently.

Should Moyes be relieved of his duties in Spain, could Roman Abramovich be tempted to bring him to Stamford Bridge as a potential replacement for Jose Mourinho?

In Moyes Chelsea would find a coach surely desperate to patch-up his damaged reputation in England.

The Portuguese coach has found himself under increasing pressure after a string of bad results, and Chelsea find themselves 16th in the EPL—on 11 points—after 12 matches, a dismal return for the champions.
