Tottenham player ratings from 1-1 Arsenal draw: Midfield excels but Lloris lets Spurs down

GK: Hugo Lloris – 5/10

Will be disappointed not to have kept out the Gibbs goal. By his own standards, it was a mistake. Could have helped his defence out more by coming to claim the crosses that were causing so many problems.

RB: Kyle Walker – 8/10

Excellent for the majority. Outnumbered at the back post for the Arsenal equaliser.

CB: Toby Alderweireld – 7/10

Cut out a lot of crosses at the near post in the first half but could not do the same after the break.

CB: Jan Vertonghen – 6/10

Could not win a header as Arsenal bombarded the box with crosses.

LB: Danny Rose – 7/10

Floated a lovely ball over the top for the Kane goal. Put in a good defensive display too.

CM: Eric Dier – 7/10

Helped Tottenham bully Arsenal’s midfield in the first hour with his physicality.

CM: Mousa Dembele – 8/10

Could not continue his scoring streak but nevertheless was very good. Used his great strength and skill to ensure Tottenham bossed the midfield, but did tire as the game went on.

AMC: Dele Alli – 8/10

Passed his biggest test yet in a Spurs shirt with flying colours. Started the game in a deeper role but was swapped with Dembele midway through the first half and that is when Spurs began taking control.

AMR: Erik Lamela – 7/10

Put in a superb shift and was only taken off when he was one foul away from being sent off.

AML: Christian Eriksen – 6/10

Did not have a great influence on the game although he tested Cech with a bending shot.

ST: Harry Kane – 7/10

Cleverly gave Cech the eyes to put Tottenham ahead, but wasted a couple of decent chances to put Tottenham two up when they were on top. Looked shattered by the end after three games in six days.

Substitutes

Son Heung-Min – 5/10

Struggled to pick up the pace of the game after coming on. Perhaps still working his way back to fitness.

Ryan Mason – 6/10

Provided some fresh legs for Tottenham as he replaced the outstanding Alli with 10 minutes to go.

Joshua Onamah  – N/a

A great occasion for the teenager as he came on for the final few minutes. Won a header or two.
