Cousin of ex-Chelsea, Arsenal, Real Madrid star & international midfielder killed in Paris attacks

France midfielder Lassana Diarra has confirmed that his cousin Asta Diakite was among the victims of Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris.

The Olympique de Marseille star, writing on his Twitter account @Lass_Officiel, published a message in which he confirmed that his cousin, who he referred to as his ‘big sister’, was among the victims.

128 people are confirmed to have died in Friday’s attacks, which took place at various sites across the French capital, including at the Stade de France, where France defeated world champions Germany 2-0.

Diarra, who has played for Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid, was in action in that match, having recently made his return to the French squad.

The 30-year-old paid tribute to all those who lost their lives during the heinous attacks, while also acknowledging the loss of his cousin.

He moved to OM in the summer of 2015, having previously been out of the game for a year following a long-running dispute with previous club Lokomotiv Moscow.
