FM 2016: Football Manager 16 bargains, Liverpool & Barcelona veterans ripe for cheap transfers

There is little doubt that at some point a savvy Football Manager 2016 player like yourself will need to scour the transfer and free agent market for a quality player.

While you could probably try and hack the game into selling you Neymar and Gareth Bale for £5 million, it’s really not advisable – and where would the fun be in that anyway?

Luckily, Football Manager 16 has made several high-quality players available at an incredible discount for managers who know how to evaluate talent. Names like Ron Vlaar and Adriano are available for free or for a fraction of their value.

Bleacher Report put together a list of ten exceptional footballers who should be available for a fraction of what they’re actually worth and were kind enough to break down what makes each player such a steal.

Ron Vlaar, Free Agent

The ex-Aston Villa defender is pretty durable with over 86 appearances in the last three seasons.

Borja Valero, Fiorentina

The 30-year-old midfielder has plenty of range and good vision in the middle of the field.

Jefferson, Botafogo

Though he has never played for a top European club, the 32-year-old Jefferson is a more than serviceable goalkeeper.

Gino Peruzzi, Boca Juniors

The Argentine defender has plenty of room to grow at age 23 and can be a steal if used properly.

Eder Alvarez Balanta, River Plate

Another young defensive star from South America, Balanta can contribute right away as well.

Lucas Romero, Velez Sarsfield

With more potential than any young target on this list, Romero is a must-have for managers looking to shore up the defensive midfield.

Morgan Amalfitano, Free Agent

Amalfitano is a medium-risk, medium-reward option in the midfield.

Jose Enrique, Liverpool

Enrique hasn’t seen the field much in the last few seasons, but he’s a smart buy for a manager needing a solid defender.

Marco Motta, Free Agent

The former Serie A star is a good option for a quick fix at right back.

Adriano, Barcelona

With superb ball skills, Adriano is still able to contribute to any team even at age 31.
