Start & Sit: How did we do with our Fantasy Football tips & picks for Gameweek 13? Sorry about Arsenal & Man United advice!

Here at Caught Offside we’re not afraid to admit when we got it wrong as far as giving Fantasy Football advice – and we were wrong plenty this past week. As could be expected, we weren’t perfect, but we got a few correct and likely earned a lot of avid readers plenty of advice that they took to heart (or Hart).

While we can’t apologize for being wrong, we’re more than happy to point out where we were absolutely right and absolutely wrong.

With all but one game in the books in Gameweek 13 this football weekend, here is a breakdown of how we did predicting fantasy football this weekend:

Goalkeepers:

Petr Cech – Advised: Start

Wrong – Arsenal conceded two goals away against West Bromwich Albion.

Joe Hart – Advised: Sit:

Right – Hart allowed a whopping four goals at the Etihad to Liverpool.

Defenders:

Marcos Rojo – Advised: Start

Half-right – Rojo did not play his best game but still earned points this week as Man United won 2-1. While we can just about forgive him giving away a penalty, Louis van Gaal will be hoping that Luke Shaw returns sooner rather than later.

Alberto Moreno – Advised: Sit

Half-right – The goal Sergio Aguero scored at the end of the first half prevented the Liverpool defence from recording a shutout, but Moreno played very well.

Midfielders, Part One:

Robbie Brady – Advised: Start

Wrong – Norwich City were completely blanked against Chelsea as the defence was in lockdown.

Ross Barkley – Advised: Sit

Dead wrong – Sincere apologies for this one as Barkley recorded two goals in a 4-0 demolition over lowly Aston Villa, finishing with one of the highest-scoring totals for a midfielder this weekend.

Attackers, Part Two:

Willian – Advised: Start

Wrong – Willian struggled against Norwich City and his yellow card really hurt his final score, but the clean sheet balanced it out in the end.

Jamie Vardy – Advised: Sit

Dead wrong – The streak continues for Vardy who overcame an injury to start and score for Leicester City in a huge win for the Foxes.

Forwards:

Romelu Lukaku – Advised: Start

Absolutely right – Two goals by Lukaku made him the fourth youngest player to score 50 Premier League goals and he helped Everton secure a win over Aston Villa

Anthony Martial – Advised: Sit

Right – May have been pointing out the obvious by predicting Martial wouldn’t be in the game, but if you hadn’t heard the recent news, you likely saved yourself a zero score.
