Arsenal ready to move on Serie A midfielder with 12 scores in 15 games

The injuries to Arsenal‘s midfield are well-documented and have proven costly to the club this season. With his future at Emirates Stadium possibly riding on the next few months of football and the Gunners primed for a run at the Premier League title, Arsene Wenger plans to bring in Serie A star Lorenzo Insigne to bolster his midfield depth and contribute some goals.

According to Calciomercato [via Sport Witness], Wenger has kept a close eye on Insigne and are “laying the groundwork” for a transfer deal this summer.

The 24-year-old Insigne has been having a solid season for Napoli, scoring seven goals and contributing five assists in 15 Serie A appearances.

A move for Insigne may not be the ideal move for Arsenal though since he plays winger and the team is already somewhat saturated with winger talents. However, he is still a master scorer and could very well replace some players in the future or at the very least provide serious depth.
