(Video) Daley Blind has awful day as Man United lose at Stoke – hit in his face & sat down by skill

Two Dutchman will take most of the blame for Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat at Stoke City on Boxing Day – Memphis Depay, for his error in the build-up to the game’s first goal, and Louis van Gaal, because he’s the manager – for now.

But another man from the Netherlands had an afternoon to forget at the Britannia Stadium – Daley Blind, who was struck in the face by a Geoff Cameron cross, before being sat down by a brilliant piece of skill from Xherdan Shari (pictured above).

Blind has been one of United’s star players this season, forming a very strong partnership with Chris Smalling at the heart of a Red Devils defence which has kept nine Premier League clean sheets to date.

However, he was recently moved from centre-half to left-back to accommodate the return of Phil Jones.

Judging by today’s evidence, he should be moved back to the middle as soon as possible.
