Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is apparently keen to make a move for Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez in a bid to beat Arsenal to his signature, according to The Times.
The Reds have had endless troubles with their front line this term, as Daniel Sturridge’s injury problems persist and Christian Benteke struggles for form following his big money switch over the summer.
This has prompted Klopp to hunt for a new frontman during the January window, and the report states he has set his heart on the Mexican international and will make a play to bring him on board at the end of the campaign.
Hernandez, who many feel was discarded by Louis van Gaal too hastily, has been in splendid form for the Bundesliga side this term, bagging 19 goals across all competitions.
London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are both said to be keen on his signature, too, but Klopp is eager to make the first move.
