Liverpool receive loan offer for oft-injured striker

Liverpool have not had Daniel Sturridge see the field much this season due to injuries. However, with the close of the transfer window approaching, the Reds have received a tempting offer from West Ham United for their oft-injured star.

According to the Daily Star, West Ham are looking to launch a loan bid for Sturridge in the waning hours of the January transfer window. The Hammers reportedly tried to bid £25 million for a permanent move last month but were denied. As a result, the club are hoping to sign Sturridge on a loan deal through the end of the season.

Sturridge has made just six appearances this season but has been effective in his limited action, scoring four goals – both on braces. He has suffered numerous injuries throughout his football career, missing well-over a calendar year’s worth of football since 2008.

In the 2013-14 season, a healthy Sturridge scored 21 Premier League goals in 29 appearances, earning PFA Team of the Year honors in the process.
