Chelsea eye PSG captain to replace injured Zouma and departing Terry

With Kurt Zouma likely to be out for a good six to nine months and John Terry poised to be out of a job at the end of the year, Chelsea are already planning to bring in replacements for the starting centre-backs. The first target on the Blues’ transfer wish list appears to be PSG captain Thiago Silva.

According to the Metro, Chelsea are renewing their interest in the veteran centre-back following Zouma’s ACL injury and the team’s decision not to re-sign John Terry after the season ends.

Silva is in his fourth season at PSG and been a dominant force on defence for the French giants since making his big move from AC Milan. Since 2012 has helped the club win the Ligue 1 titles each year, while earning Ligue 1 Team of the Year honors each season.

Zouma injured his leg this past weekend on an ill-fated challenge against Manchester United. The injury to Zouma came just days after John Terry announced that the club had decided not to re-sign him.
