Arsenal first-teamer convinced that Gunners are still in title race…despite 11-point gap

Despite defeating Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday, Arsenal are no closer to the top of the Premier League after another weekend of top-flight action.

Leicester City defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 away to move up to 66 points, five ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in second, who cruised past Bournemouth at White Hart Lane to keep the head on the unlikely leaders.

Arsenal—who have a game in hand on the two sides ahead of them—are down in third on 55 points, six behind Spurs and a whopping 11 behind Claudio Ranieri’s side.

While the Gunners still have to face both West Ham United and Manchester City, they may be buoyed by a fairly easy run in, including matches against the likes of Aston Villa, Norwich City, Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace.

It is perhaps this that makes defender Hector Bellerin so convinced that the North London heavyweights are still in the title race.

“Definitely,” the right-back told Arsenal Player, as per the club’s official website, when asked if the Gunners were still in the hunt.

“It is great time to go on the international break after a win, and it’s time for the players to recharge their batteries because it is the last bit of the season and it is important for us.”
