Manchester United and Arsenal transfer target adds to giants’ injury concerns ahead of Barcelona bout

Atletico Madrid have been dealt a blow with the news that two more of their players have been injured with their Champions League bout against Barcelona looming.

As reported by AS, Diego Simeone has received the bad news that Saul Niguez and Lucas Hernandez have been added to his side’s growing injury list.

In 10 days, on April 5, athletic and played the first leg of their champions league quarter-final against Barcelona, Simeon a may well have to do so without some key members of the squad, after Niguez and Hernandez joined an injury list that already contains the likes of Diego Godin, Stevan Savic and Jose Gimenez.

As confirmed by the RFEF [via AS], Niguez sprained his left ankle during a Spain U-21 defeat against Croatia, while Hernandez’s has worryingly fractured vertebrae, during U-21 duty for France against Macedonia.

Niguez is one of the brightest stars at Atletico, with reports in Spain confirming recently both Arsenal and Manchester United are understood to be keen on the 21-year-old.

Don Balon reported recently that the Red Devils were willing to pay up to £31 million to sign the midfielder.
