Arsenal step up interest in Dutch wonderkid & Chelsea transfer target

According to the Mirror, Arsenal have sent their chief scout to watch over Ajax wonderkid Riechedly Bazoer, as Arsene Wenger intensifies his interest in the player.

The tabloid state that Steve Rowley has been sent to look over the 19-year-old once again, and speculate that Wenger could well be primed to make a maiden bid for the Dutch international.

The Mirror [as above] report that the Gunners aren’t alone in the hunt for the starlet, with London and Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, as well as reigning European champions Barcelona all understood to be considering the youngster.

Bazoer has featured 27 times for Ajax in the Eredivisie so far this season, scoring five goals and contributing four assists.

He has also featured in the Europa League for the Dutch giants, impressing both in the heart of the park and, on occasion, on the right flank.

Utrecht-born Bazoer spent time during his early career with USV Elinkwijk and PSV Eindhoven, before moving to Ajax in 2012.
