Arsenal fans have long dreamed of the day when Arsene Wenger gets replaced by one of the greatest players in team history – Thierry Henry. The French scoring machine, who has been out of the game since finishing his career with the New York Red Bulls in 2014, has just taken a key first step towards getting that long-awaited top post at the Emirates.
According to Goal, Henry has officially been given the role of assistant manager to the Arsenal Under-18 side. Per the source, Henry has completed his UEFA A coaching license and is now able to manage teams that are either below the Premier League level or in the youth league.
Henry will reportedly continue his work as a pundit for Sky Sports while working with the Arsenal youth academy.
The four-time Premier League Golden Boot winner won two Premier League titles and three FA Cup titles under Arsene Wenger, scoring a club record 226 goals in 369 total games for the Gunners.
