Riyad Mahrez agent gives odds on POTY moving this summer: Barcelona and Man United fans, get excited

Leicester City are officially the best team in England after being crowned Premier League champions this week, but they face a fight to keep their history-making side together.

One man who is in big demand is PFA Player of the Year Riyad Mahrez.

The 25-year-old Algerian has scored 17 of Leicester’s 64 league goals this season, providing a further 11 assists.

Mahrez’s magic numbers have not gone unnoticed, with The Guardian claiming that Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have been linked.

Fans of those three clubs, therefore, should be rather excited to hear that Mahrez’s agent is talking up the chances of the Foxes playmaker moving this summer.

Agent Kamel Bengougam is quoted by Guardian Sport as saying: “Yes of course there is a possibility. When you have been playing the way Riyad has this season it is bound to attract attention. He is very happy with Leicester and of course it has been a fantastic season. They will play in the Champions League next year as well so he would be happy to stay.

“But at his age if the opportunity comes to play for a big team then we would have to think about it. I’d say it’s 50/50 at the moment whether he stays or goes.”

Fifty-50, he says. To clarify – in this season where odds have made headlines left, right and centre – Mr Bengougam is stating that there is an even-money chance Mahrez will be on his way.
