Manchester United flop livid after Louis van Gaal’s FA Cup final snub

Manchester United forward Memphis Depay is understood to be fuming after having been overlooked from Louis van Gaal‘s FA Cup final squad.

According to Goal, the Netherlands international is furious after having been snubbed for the Red Devils’ matchday squad to face Crystal Palace at Wembley on Saturday.

Van Gaal’s decision comes on the back of a miserable season for the Dutch frontman.

Depay arrived at United in a high-profile £31 million transfer during the summer [fee as per BBC news], however, he has wholly struggled to realise his potential, and frequently cut a frustrated figure at the club.

The 22-year-old attacker has made 29 league appearances for the Red Devils, of which 16 have been starts, but has scored just two goals and failed to contribute a single assist.

The former PSV Eindhoven man has been usurped and overshadowed by youngsters such as Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford, and it remains to be seen whether he will remain at Old Trafford beyond the season’s end.

According to Goal, he is furious after being overlooked for Saturday’s bout, and hasn’t travelled to London with his teammates after being told by LVG in a one-on-one meeting that he wouldn’t be returned for the match against Palace.
