Man United transfers: Dortmund star forcing OT move, £157m for Brazilian, teenager tracked, new John Terry in place

Manchester United are reportedly among three clubs who are willing to pay £157m to buy Neymar out of his contract. According to his agent, Wagner Ribeiro, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also ready to break the world transfer record to sign the 24-year-old Brazilian.

Meanwhile, United seem unlikely to sign another centre-back this summer. Eric Bailly has already arrived from Villarreal for £30m and The Mirror are now claiming that Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has told Phil Jones that he can do for him what John Terry did at Chelsea.

Jones had lost his place because of injury, but, even before that, he seemed to suffer from an identity crisis, with managers also playing him at right-back and in midfield. Mourinho making him his star centre-half is exactly what he needs. He’s got the ability, for sure.

Although the centre of their defence now seems sorted, United’s summer business is far from over. Armenia winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be set for Old Trafford, with the player’s agent admitting that the 27-year-old wants out of Borussia Dortmund and is desperate to go the Theatre of Dreams.

Finally, United are keen on 19-year-old Switzerland Breel Embolo. Bild suggest the Basel target man is being watched very closely by Mourinho and his team.
