Paul Pogba wages agreed with Man United ahead of world-record transfer, player’s agent to earn €25m from deal

What seemed like a fantasy transfer just a few weeks ago now feels as though it could be very much on the cards.

According to AS, Manchester United have agreed a deal with Paul Pogba’s agent that will see the French midfielder earn €13.5m a year at Old Trafford.

That works out at almost €260,000 a week – around £220,000 based on the current exchange rate.

United are yet to have a bid formally accepted by Juventus, but AS claim the Red Devils are willing to meet the Serie A club’s €120m asking price and will make an offer next week.

Should such a deal go ahead, Pogba would become the world’s most expensive player, in terms of his transfer fee.

However, he may cost more that that €120m, with AS reporting that Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, stands to earn an extra €25m in commission.

Pogba, who could become a European champions if France beat Portugal in Paris this evening, is unquestionably a fine player.

And, at the age of 23, it is no surprise that United are being asked to pay big bucks to buy him out of his Juve contract.

But surely €120m – €145m including the agent’s fee – is too much?
