After watching N’Golo Kante help lead Leicester City to an improbable Premier League title win last season, many fans who understood the business-nature of the Beautiful Game were understandably upset to learn that the French midfielder was pursuing big bucks with another club.
But Leicester City legend Gary Lineker had a different reaction entirely to the young star’s departure.
Taking to Twitter, Lineker made a joke about N’Golo Kante deciding to join up with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte – and called the decision “cunty” on Kante’s part.
Despite the off-color joke, Lineker credited Kante with being the main reason Leicester overcame the 5,000-to-1 odds to win the title, and tipped him to make a massive difference for Chelsea – who finished 10th this past year after winning the title the year before.
Kante joined Leicester City on a relatively unheralded move from Ligue 1 outfit Caen last season. But he had a remarkable breakout season for the Foxes, dominating the midfield in every conceivable way and earning PFA Team of the Year honors and a spot on the French national team.
