The Jose Mourinho era was already three signings old.
But it could not be considered properly underway until his side had scored a goal.
And now they have. Thanks to Will Keane. And a Juan Mata assist. And an absolutely horrific error by 41-year-old Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

After a scoreless opening 45 minutes between United and Wigan at the DW Stadium, the Red Devils broke the deadlock early in the second half when Jaaskelainen’s awful clearance went straight to Mata, who squared to the grateful Keane.
Despite making his Premier League debut back in 2011, 23-year-old Keane has only made three senior United appearances in total – all from the bench.
He has scored five goals in the last five seasons during loan spells at Wigan, QPR, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End.
