Liverpool star transfer in doubt following knee injury

Liverpool’s star midfielder Lucas Leiva’s proposed transfer to Galatasaray has been cast in doubt following a knee injury.

The Liverpool Echo states that Lucas is ruled out of first team football for a month of football and is expected to miss the opening weeks of the Premier League.

According to the Turkish outlet Fotospor, Galatasaray, who have been in negotiations with Liverpool over a proposed loan deal for Lucas, are discussing whether to push ahead with negotiations or wait until the Brazil international recovers.

Leiva suffered a knee injury Liverpool’s win over Huddersfield earlier this week. The Reds travel to the US next for the next part of their summer tour but it remains to be seen if Lucas will make the trip.

Galatasaray have been closely linked with Lucas who wants wants a guaranteed €3.5 million per-season contract from Galatasaray according to Fanatik.

The daily Turkish paper states that the Istanbul giants have made Liverpool a €3 million offer for the Brazilian midfielder but also want Lucas to lower his wage demands.
