Barcelona line up €25m move for La Liga forward after failing in bid to land prolific priorities this summer

Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing Valencia striker Paco Alcacer and have been linked with a €25m for the Spanish international.

The Catalan giants have been looking for a back-up striker all summer, as Luis Enrique eyes adding quality and depth behind his preferred attacking trident of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

With the club looking to compete on various fronts again this season, rotation will be key to keeping all of his stars fresh, and in turn that is why a number of top strikers have been linked with a move to the Nou Camp this summer.

As noted by Goal, Kevin Gameiro and Luciano Vietto were top of the list for Barca this summer, but both opted for moves elsewhere as they swapped between Sevilla and Atletico Madrid.

In turn, Enrique could now be set to switch his attention to Alcacer, with the report claiming that the La Liga champions are ready to submit a €25m for the Spaniard to fill the gap.

The 22-year-old bagged 15 goals and provided eight assists for Valencia last season in all competitions, and could be an ideal addition to the squad to fill the kind of role that Enrique has planned.

After securing a domestic double last year, Barca will be looking to continue their domestic dominance while also competing for the Champions League again, and in turn being able to choose between Suarez and Alcacer in particular could be a perfect combination for Enrique.
